How on Earth is Crystal Lewis not on this list? I know she has not released anything in nearly a decade, but she is still a wonderful artist!

Pamela Rose Williams April 11, 2013 at 9:49 pm

Oh my goodness Kiki, another good one forgotten. How on Earth… exactly! In Heaven I won’t forget anyone. Thanks for jarring my memory dear.

Edwin Rivera April 11, 2013 at 5:29 pm

Hi there! God bless you for ALL you do… I will have to say nice efforts in compiling this list – NO EASY TASK for sure… Some names are missing though! Darlene Zschech, Margaret Becker, Lacey (Mosley) Strum -former Flyleaf vocalist, Lisa Bevill, Veronica (I can’t remember her last name -maybe Petrucci), Joy Williams, too bad Jennifer Knapp doesn’t fall in this category anymore, Susan Ashton, Julie Miller, Jill Phillips, I KNOW there are some other ones that I can’t think of right now -what their names come up as soon as I finish this, LOL! Another thing is I’d probably change the title from “BEST” to “MOST FAVORITE” female artists… Anyways, God’s richest blessings to you & all there!

I am trying to think of a female Christian artist who wasn’t very popular but I had her cd. I remember her having long red/auburn curly hair. If anybody knows who I am talking about I would appreciate help remembering. I have no luck when I google artists.

Pamela Rose Williams January 29, 2014 at 9:07 pm

Hello Marla,
You have me on that one. If I think of one I will reply.

bethy March 7, 2014 at 3:06 am

Hi Bethy, can you share more… that one is not familiar to me.

Awara Kingsley April 1, 2014 at 12:09 pm

I think Tanya Smith, a young and upcoming talent is really one of the greatest female christain artists presently. Listen to “Oceans”(Where feets may fail). I cried when I heard her sing, She sings with deep love for God, You can feel the passion in her voice whenever she sings..

Pamela Rose Williams April 3, 2014 at 10:01 am

Oh yes Awara, That is a lovely song and Tanya’s voice is outstanding. When I posted ths article this song had not been released or I am sure it would have been at the top of my list. Thanks for sharing!

Eric Mayombo May 3, 2014 at 3:46 am

God bless the author of this wonderful list of Christian singers in the female category. I came to know about Christian contemporary music through a top 20 Christian music programme called ’20 the countdown magazine’ I have encountered many brilliant singers and most of them have appeared in the list. I couldn’t agree more with the list because I also have most as my favourite singers.

There are some that didn’t appear whom I would have loved. The likes of Beckah Shae, Heather Williams, Rachael Lampa, Dara Maclean, Meredith Andrews, Jamie Grace, Charmaine.

I should admitt again that I enjoyed the great work by the author. Keep it up and continue to strive for creativity in this regard.

Pamela Rose Williams May 6, 2014 at 7:31 am

Thanks so much for your words of encouragment Eric. Love all those ladies you mentioned!

Emeka Ezenduka August 16, 2014 at 2:21 am
